I was treated to a wonderful view of a pair of Kingfishers courting at Hartburn. They were perched about twelve inches apart on an Alder tree washed down river in the recent high water near the grotto. One was repeatedly bobbing and flicking its tail up but its mate was unimpressed. This was the first time I have seen a pair together.
No further sign of the Yellow Wagtails we saw between Angerton and Bolam, which we saw last week.
